Charge 2 wont install new update

I have a charge 2 with samsung a40. It refuses to install the latest update.  Have tried resetting charge 2 by pressing and holding 4secs whilst in charging unit, reinstalled app but keeps saying bluetooth not connected and it is as updates the step count when you sync

Hello @JMJO1974, welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure for me to help you with your firmware update concern.

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting.  Let me share with you that the Samsung Galaxy A40 is not currently listed as a compatible device with our products and services, therefore, you may experience certain connection difficulties with it. I'm aware that some users are able to use non-compatible devices with our Fitbit products, however, we cannot ensure a proper function of all its features due to this compatibility concern.

Even though your mobile device isn't compatible, I recommend you to learn more about how to update the firmware version of your Fitbit device with the information that's specified on this help article. Then, please move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Please keep me posted.

That's rubbish as it has been working perfectly until now. Right up until
the update was trying to install.
I don't accept what you are telling me . I now have two charge 2 devices
that are now pointless!
Please provide a suitable solution!

That is rubbish. Firstly my phone is not listed as incompatable! Secondly, my fitbit and my daughters were working perfectly right up until trying to install the update! The update has caused the issue therefore you have stopped them working. Where do I seek compensation for now having two pointless "watches" not fit for purpose??

My Samsung Galaxy A6 has also stopped working since I was notified there is an update.  My device cannot be found is the response.  I have also tried all the suggested steps and was going to call to see if someone can talk me through it.

I have exactly the same issue. Fitbit was working with samsung a40, but since updating, my phone can no longer pair and sync with my fitbit. Have tried various suggested work arounds to no avail.... 😤

I've got a Galaxy A70 and have the exact same issue. Starts the update but soon fails with an exclamation mark on the tracker's screen. Surely Android OS is Android OS???

Why cant this just be sorted out?

Or is this just another ploy to get people to spend more money by upgrading their device? Are you no longer wanting to support the Charge 2? Stinks like the mobile phone industry! What about the environment???

Hello! It's a pleasure to continue providing assistance, sorry for the delay in responding.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and personal experiences on this specific thread, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for each of you. For the new ones, I recommend to check the information that was shared on my previous post and try some troubleshooting steps. As stated on my previous post, due to Android, Fitbit app and device updates we cannot ensure that a non-compatible device will work with our products and services, reason why we always recommend to use compatible devices to enjoy the Fitbit experience in full.

Keep in mind that we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, reason why we are always working and testing different mobile devices to make sure that they meet all the necessary requirements to work with our products and services. Thanks for the feedback that was shared, such information is really important for us to improve.

I'll be around if anything else is in need.
