Charge 3 will not sync or get notifications

I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps, but still am very frustrated.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy s8+ with latest update installed

Charge 3 has the latest update (This latest time it took me over  3 hours to get the update to download and install once the device had synced ).

 

I have push notifications on the phone enabled but nothing ever gets sent to the phone.  The fibit app constantly tells me that I need to reset Bluetooth (I have over 10 other Bluetooth devices that i use such as headphones, and speakers and even my car, none of which have any issues with the Bluetooth connection to my phone - only fitbit seems to.

 

The app is set for continuous sync, however the only time it ever syncs is when I press the button to corce a sync, and then that only works once in a while.  Most of the time I have to go through the entire setup process to get the data to sync.

 

I have had it with this device.  If my charge 2 battery had not dies I would go back to using it since it worked flawlessly.

 

Any help is appreciated.  (And note: I have ad this device since they started production - I did a pre-order through amazon.

 

Very frustrated and want my $ back.

Thanks for sharing all of those details and for trying to get the notifications to work on your own before posting in here. Let me help you figure out what is going on.

 

The first thing I'd recommend is that you go into the phone's Bluetooth settings and look for any Fitbit devices that might show as paired, even the Charge 3. Remove all of them from the list of paired devices and then run the set up on your Charge 3 as if it was a brand new device.

I have been trying your suggestion, I have removed all paired bluetooth devices, but when I go through setup of the device, after it finds the charge 3, and I input the 4 digit code it does nothing beyond that.  I have been working on this for about 2 weeks trying it in different locations trying to minimize any other bluetooth broadcasts, as well as controlling wifi activities. Nothing works.  I did try a vera from a fried for 2 days, and that worked flawlessly, I had it up and running in under 10 minutes.  The charge 3 is absolute junk.

Another week has gone by, but still no sync has happened.  It did give me a few notifications, so I guess that is a plus, but 3 or 4 notifications while I have had over 100 texts, and 1000+ emails this week is basically useless.  I think it is time to get my $ back!  Sorry, but I can not recomment the charge 3, it is a very expensive watch!

I have read dozens of the same complaints about C3 not syncing (including mine bought 12/22/18) and everyone has tried everything that they were told to do to rectify the issue. Yet nothing fixed it.

 

But people keep parroting the same "fix it" steps even tho they clearly Do. Not. Work.

 

Yes, it is very frustrating. Stop saying restart it fixes it because it didn't (after many times).

Stop saying to turn blue tooth off/on. That did not fix it.

Clearing data did not fix the issue.

And now I deleted tracker from app. It says it located device but cannot link up to it.

 

WTH Fitbit??? 

What is going on?

One or two devices, sure I can see that. But this many? Hmmmm....

I have the same exact issue with my C3. I've done everything possible. On hold with CS now. I'm sick of it. Synced 1x then nothing. Ive unpaired it and now I can't get it to pair again. I have a Samsung S8.

Hi.. My wife and I just bought 2 Fitbit Charge 3s to replace our Samsung Gearfit devices. Why? We liked the newer, automatic features! We are both having the exact same sync issues and both have Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro. Updated version 6.0.1. After many hours of following the fixes prescribed. Most entries here address the same thing. Is anyone researching why this problem exists still?

I had the same problems with my s8+ sent it back today faulty replacement arriving tomorrow so it looks like that one will be returned via Amazon asap.

Fitbit you should ensure your product is workable before you sell them surely I am very disappointed ....

I finally got mine to sync after hours of messing with it.

 

Doing what was suggested numerous times, over and over and over.

A couple of times I made it to where you receive the code only for it to not work. 

 

Finally after about 4th time of turning phone off (SG7 Edge) and disabling bluetooth, resetting the tracker did it work. 

 

So far, so good. (Knock on wood)

 

I got mine at Kohl's and still have another week or so to return/exchange it, so I hope if it acts up again, hope it does it in this time frame. 

 

Still wonder what caused so many trackers to stop syncing. 

Hope the bug gets fixed.

I love my Charge 3!

Thanks new one arrived yesterday working good love it , but I do wish the screen didn't wake up and light up the ceiling my wife not amused Ha ha ...any work around to stop.
