Charge 3 won't pair with my samsung

Can anyone help?

My wife bought me a charge 3 for Christmas, I'm beginning to wish she hadn't bothered. It is now January 10 and my charge 3 won't pair up with my Samsung, I have tried restarting both, I have turned Bluetooth off and on but nothing, everytime I put the code in, it just carries on saying connecting.. but it never does.

Also, I can't seem to find anything regarding swim settings on the app.

The charge 2 had a lengths settings and was pretty accurate in the water, someone told me the charge 3 does NOT count your lengths, yet it advertises that it does, this was the very reason my wife bought this for me.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with these problems as I am on the verge of taking it back!

Welcome to the Forums @Hairybhoy.

Let me help you figure out what is going on. Thanks for sharing the steps that you have tried to get everything to sync to your phone.

The first thing I'd like to do is to ask you some questions:

  • What Samsung phone are you using?
  • Do you get some sort of error message?

In the meantime please follow the steps listed in this help article. They should definitely help in getting it all to pair correctly.

As for your question on the Charge 3, you can definitely track your swimming lengths. You can click here to see more about it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

HiI sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but i have been doing shift work and haven't found the time.My phone is a galaxy A5, I have checked through my blue tooth settings and it says i am paired with Charge 3, but when i tap on the fitbit app, it says complete set up, now, remind me later, Never. When I try to complete the set up it says we have found your tracker and when i put the code in it just continuously says connecting.... but it never does.I have tried unpairing it through blue tooth and re pairing it but the same thing happens over again.I dont know what to do now. Also in the app on my phone there are no swim settings whatsoever, on the dashboard there are no exercises like on the old charge 2, Bike, run, swim etc.I have exhausted all options and now i think i should just take it back. Can you suggest anything?Kind Regards

I've Galaxy A5 too. Last synced 27th Dec. Tried all advice... it will track My steps but I've to sync it every time (then it says sync error) even thou it's on all day sync..

It won't track My sleep or 250+ steps. Bit fed up of it to be honest. I've spent so much time trying to resolve the issue. I wonder can I get a refund back?

I have just taken mine back and swapped it for a Samsung Fit2 Pro.I am disgusted at the lack of support from customer care at fitbit, the only phone number they give you is non existent, and all they did was email me the troubleshooting links which I told them I had already tried.I never had this problem with my charge 2 and it's obvious there are problems with the charge 3.

Hello Faine

I have found out that the Galaxy A5 is NOT compatible with the Charge 3

Hello @Hairybhoy and @Faine.

I apologize for the delay in my response.

As you mentioned, this is happening because the Galaxy A5 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
