Dashboard and challenge don't match

My fitbit versa with Android phone doesnt sync steps right from the dashboard to challenges.  I frequently join challenges with someone who is in a different time zone, and steps work fine until a 3rd person joins who is in the same time zone, and then I get shorted usually over 5,000 steps!!  Its very frustrating..i have tried all the recomended fixes- log out log back in, shut down and restart, stop bluetooth, etc. And I have loaded all updates.  Nothing works!!! Please help!

@Windkitty Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Sorry to hear that your steps aren't matching your account and your challenges. Have you logged any activities during the challenge? Have you tried exiting the challenge and join in after the second person has joined? Also check the tips in our help site.

I have tried everything that has been suggested and then some.  I left the challenge and got invited back in - but it didn't work.  I have shut down blue tooth and logged out and when I get back in it doesn't work.  I have shut down altogether after shutting off Bluetooth and logging out and it doesn't work.  It appears to be the steps I earn while riding my bike that are not going into the challenge.  If you have a better solution please let me know but I'm basically at the give up point.
