Charge 4 not getting text notifications from OnePlus 8 Pro

I have a one plus 8 phone bought Fitbit charge 4 today.   I can not get text messages to come through .  Is there a fix or should I return the Fitbit?

I moved your post to the main board, in an effort to keep the forums organized. I'd like you to double check that you've done this procedure to set notifications on your tracker. May I know if you receive call notifications?

Also, take into consideration that the Fitbit app is compatible with most popular phones and tablets. To set up and use your Fitbit products and services, you must install the Fitbit app on a compatible device running one of the following operating systems:

• Apple iOS 13 or higher
• Android OS 8.0 or higher 
• See additional tips for Android phones and tablets.
