Charge 5 vibrating with red X

My charge 5 started vibrating nonstop earlier today and flashing the fitbit logo, it stopped flashing the logo after a few minutes, but went to the red circle and x. I have tried the soft reset, it doesn't even stop vibrating, and the screen stays the same. I have it on the charger now, but what can I do?

Thank you so much for letting us know that your Charge 5 vibrated nonstop, then showed the Fitbit logo and a red circle with an X. Thanks for all your efforts too. 

Please try to do the following:

  • Sync your Charge 5 with the Fitbit app. From the Today tab tap the devices icon then "Charge 5" and "Sync Now".
  • If your Charge 5 still doesn't show an update banner: open the Gallery tab in the Fitbit app and a pop up should appear.
  • Lastly please try to restart your Charge 5 this way:
    • Connect your device to the charging cable.
    • Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times with one-second pause between each press. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
    • Another way to restart your device is to unplug it, wait a second, and plug it back in. Repeat this process 3 times in an 8 seconds interval and then wait 10 seconds until the device restarts.
