Charge 5 screen keeps going blank

My charge 5 keeps switching off even with a full charge. It only switches back on when it is charged. I was told to change the clock face, which I did. However, the problem persists

Hi there, @Maddy_C. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 5 keeps going blank. I will do my best to help you with this!

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?

I have tried all your suggestions for the screen going black on my Charge 5. At least twice. I did change the clock face but could not change it back. At first the screen was just dim. Then I could intermittently wake it. Now nothing. It syncs with my phone. It is 100% charged using a new cable. I clean the contact points on the back. As for the lights, only the green one is somewhat lit.

Update: I got the screen to wake. However, there are all these striations, like it's running out of ink.

Hey, @3939lorraine. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and for following the troubleshooting steps I recommended in my previous post.

Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have a Charge 5 and report that the screen is not working, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.
