Was having trouble syncing my Charge 6 with the android app on a Galaxy phone. Went through the song and dance and finally punted to trying to reset the tracker.. Finally got the app to "see" the tracker right after a fresh install of the app but then it will not connect to get the tracker to show the pairing code. Will not pair in the same way with a Charge 5 I had stopped using because of poor battery life. Several times I tried this with each tracker and freshly reinstalled copies of the app.
Does not seem an issue with the phone's hardware/software since it pairs properly with another device. The phone also "sees" the trackers in pairing mode in the available devices list.
Any ideas on how to proceed from here? I don't want to move on to one of the larger watches.
This is not answered. I did not mean to suggest it was.

Hi @Frimmel the Charge 6 set up now requires a Google account. Could that be part of your issue?

No I have been using my Google account with Fitbit app for many months. It seems an issue with the app not connecting to the devices since it is two different trackers not connecting logic suggests it is a software problem with the app - fresh installs directly from the Goggle store.

This was accidentally chosen as best answer. This situation is not resolved.

My problem exactly. Only started since updating the app last night. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app, restarted the Charge 6 twice - nothing seems to work. My phone can "see" the Charge 6 but won't pair ( I get the message that you need the app, which I have), and it won't sync from the app either. On top of all the other issues I have - not logging distance, poor GPS tracking - I am really cross. The device is only 5 monrhs old, and nothing but trouble.

I've got a similar problem. I downloaded my latest Android update this morning and now my Charge 6 won't sync to the phone. I've disconnected it from the phone and tried to reconnect but it just says "searching for your Charge 6" so it can't see it even though it is right next to it. I uninstalled the Fitbit app and went through the setup process and gave all the permissions but I still get the same message "searching for your Charge 6". The app is showing all my data up to the last sync yesterday. The Charge 6 is four months old and it's worked well until now but this is annoying.
Any ideas on what I do now?

I posted this on another similar thread so posting it here for completeness.

I have exactly the same problem, it seems to be an incompatibility between some new version of Android or app with the charge 6 since 22nd of october aprox

After spending a very long time on hold with Customer Support, I was told this is a known problem with Android phones and they are working on it. I asked about extending my warranty and membership. My fitbit is not even 6 months old. I was told the representative did not have the answer. They really need to fix this problem. Being told to try synching again in a few days. Not acceptable.

My wife and I are also having this problem. Tried doing a factory reset on my fitbit and now I can't even use it as a watch.

I installed a Fitbit app update this morning but it hasn't resolved the issue. My phone still can't find my Charge 6 to pair with it. My wife's phone couldn't find the update so she still can't sync to her Inspire 3.
More patience required while Fitbit / Google sort it out.

Would someone please explain how to downgrade to a previous version and turn of the auto-updates. Thank you.

Please tell us how to install an earlier version of the app, I'm having the same problem with my inspire 3 then just bought a new charge 6 thinking inspire 3 went bad. Same problem..

To sideload, you need to bypass the security of your phone, and is not a good idea if you don't know how to do it.
May be cliche, but if you don't know how to do it, you shouldn't do it....

Looking for answers to this problem too. My sister has a Samsung A13 and has just upgraded from a charge 4 to a Charge 6. Since she updated her phone software to Android 14 and the latest Fitbit update she has been unable pair her new device. We have tried everything and it’s obviously an issue of compatibility between android and Fitbit software. Her phone can ‘see’ the device but no pairing code is forthcoming. So frustrating. Please fix this issue Fitbit

Exactly the same here. Charge 6 3 months old, 2 days ago had a software update now won't pair. Sometimes gets to sending a code but doesn't. Got watch replaced today under the warranty thinking it must be faulty but once home the new one will not pair either. Do I ditch and go elsewhere or trust fitbit to fix it?

Yes I'm about ready to return the new charge 6 and stop with fitbit altogether. How can you just release an update that's faulty and not even inform us. We gave to hear about it from other users!

Is Fitbit listening? I am having the same problem with my Charge 6 since updating my Samsung A13.

I had the Charge 6 lose Bluetooth connectivity and in order to fix was with Google support to reset everything, reinstall everything, reboot everything. They ended up sending me a new Charge 6 and still same issue with a Samsung A13...then I started to think that it was an issue with the A13's Bluetooth receiver b/c I could add it with a Pixel 7 and a Samsung A14. However, this thread is making me think otherwise.
I know that Charge 6 is fine b/c it's brand new. I also was able to update it using a temporary sync with the Pixel 7. Makes no sense since the Fitbit app was the same on all 3 phones b/c I downloaded latest but it still doesn't want to sync with A13. It goes through setup process but fails at detecting the 4 digit code to generate during pairing.
