Compatability galaxy 5

I have Galaxy S5 which has android version 6.

I have the app already as I was using charge 3.  This still syns but due to no longer displaying the screen, not charging as normal & recording data at incorrect time,  need a new tracker.

Is there another Fitbit that I could still use seeing as I already have the app?

I know it says compatible devices need version 8 or higher, but hopefully I can still use fitbit without getting another phone or using a different brand .

@DML100 For the last several versions the minimum requirement is Android ver 8

If you still have the older combatible version that runs on your phone. You should be fine.

As @Odyssey13 stated, to setup a new tracker,

  • Find a friend with a compatible phone that runs android 8 or above or iOS
  • Simply open the app on their phone, log into your fitbit app..
  • Setup your new tracked
  • Log out of the app.
  • Go into their phones Bluetooth and remove your tracker from the list of trusted devices.
  • Now open the fitbit app on your phone,
  • Log in if you need to and agree to any permission requests..
  • You should now sync
  • Setup notificatoons

As mentioned some functions you may not have access to all functions. These functions should still be sent to the cloud server.

So it's a big fat no, even though I already have the app?

What if I got another charge 3, would that work ? My existing charge 3 can still synchronise.

@DML100  I'm not sure. If you ever had to remove the app, you won't be able to get the updated version. That's been a problem for people. The older apps don't always let you use all the functions properly. To be sure, get with customer support. https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US

@DML100  the older versions of the Android Fitbit app are not available on the Google Play Store. Unless you have a friend who lets you use their phone to set up, you're not going to be able to do it.
