It is unclear from the Fitbit website whether syncing is possible with Google Pixel 3 phones.

 

On this page, it says yes.

 

But the Let's Get Down to Specifics device search says no.

In this case the help article, the first link you shared, is accurate while the second link has still not been fully updated. You can go with the help article with confidence, the Pixel 3 is accurate.
