Please oh please! I want my fitbit to be able to sync with my phone. Any suggestions on how I can find out if it ever will be able to sync?

Hello @Kaitykait, thank you for joining us here in our Fitbit Community. If your phone is not listed as a compatible device, but you were able to pair your tracker, it means your phone is able to work with the Fitbit app the only difference is that we cannot guarantee it will work flawlessly since there are devices that still are under test to make sure the variety of compatible devices wider.
It wont hurt to try the following steps from this post for syncing issues, it will provide you additional steps to address this issue: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).
