Confused - Fitbit as a "member of the google family"

I was visiting the google store recently and saw this: https://store.google.com/category/fitbit

So I purchased one for myself and my wife last night. Unfortunately, other than google assistant, there are no google apps nor does there seem to be any actual relationship between google and my new fitbit sense.

For example, I have youtube premium to listen to music using youtube music (the official music app for google), but the sense only has access to something called Deezer or spotify? Similarly for google pay. Fitbit pay and google pay are not integrated and fitbit pay does not work with my credit card so I have no contactless pay method on my watch. I thought I would have access to these kinds of apps when purchasing something that is advertised as part of the google family.

I am really enjoying the new watch - I just feel like I have been misled. Are there plans to change this?

It has been fairly recently that Google's purchase of Fitbit was completed.  Fitbit is still mostly as it was before, but it seems reasonable to expect there could be changes in the future to integrate more with Google, with Fitbit operating largely independently.  But nobody who is allowed to talk about it actually knows what the future will look like.  We just have to wait and see.

And welcome to Fitbit.  Feel free to look around the boards, and ask any questions you come up with.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for responding. That is very helpful information as I did not know google purchased Fitbit. I hope, now that they own them, that integration can occur. It would have been nice for it to have already happened before luring ignorant consumers like me over using the google brand website!
