Continually asking me to turn on device notifications?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
The past 2 days it's been continually asking me to enable my device notifications when they are already enabled... I have a galaxy s5 phone and a charge HR.

Is this happening to anyone else? It's super annoying and I want my notifications to remain on without the constant prompt.

Thanks!

My guess is that every time the app is updated, you have to re-enable them. I turned off auto updates to minimize it.

Mine keep needing to be turned on within the app every day. I'm not sure why.

A. I do have it set to not receive notifications during sleep.
B. I do use bitticker

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Magnanimity5 Woman Very Happy! Hmmmm....very strange let me say, I'd recommend doing the following:

  • Check that your notifications are enable
  • Log out of your Fitbit App
  • Force quit the App
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit App

Let me know if this works!

Hi Marre,

I'm facing similar issue with my Charge 2. I'm not sure if this is the band related issue but my thoughts are that this has something to do with the app. Here is what I said in my other thread:

******************************************************************************************************************

The phone I'm using is Xiaomi Mi5S Plus.

The issue exists only when the app is closed (after it is closed in the phone menu). In order to fix the issue I have to re-open the app and go into notifications settings and turn them on again. After these steps are done the notifications are fine again but I cannot close the app in the phone menu if I want notifications to work continuously.

******************************************************************************************************************

I should add that in order to enable notifications in the app, the app asks me to "Turn on device notifications" - see the screen below:Image result for turn on device notifications fitbit

When I click Enable Notifications the app takes me to phone settings but the "Fitbit Notification Service" is already turned on! This is super weird. So I have to disable notifications, enable them and go back to Fitbit App and then everything works.... well it works until the App is Open/Active.

I tried your recommendation in your message from 2016 but the issue is still there. Interestingly the issue was there for approx 1 day and then it fixed itself (?) for the last couple of days but the problem is back today.

The widget is on and I see it in the notifications bar. When I click on it and the app is on it  just takes me to notifications settings in the Fitbit app and all looks good there. When I click the widget when the app is closed it opens app/notifications settings and the app asks me to turn on device notifications again.

All permissions are granted, I restricted power saving feature for Fitbit and it is still the same.

I would highly appreciate if someone could help  me out here.
