My charge 3 synced for the first few days I had it but I've had issues ever since. Starting to get really fed up with it. Had a chat with a guy on the help centre who was really nice but still didn't resolve the issue. Beginning to wonder what I paid for.

Let me help you figure out what is going on. Thanks for letting us know that you have tried to troubleshoot with our support team.
The first thing I'd recommend is that you try going through the steps listed in this help article. While you might have already tried them, maybe you could go through them once again.
In the meantime I'd like to ask what phone is it that you are using to sync with your Fitbit?
