Time is incorrect

When I woke up this morning my Ionic shows the time being 13.5 hours off.

I opened up my app on the phone and it says that FITBIT.COM is down for maintenance.

Well, I'm on fitbit.com right now.

Anyway, a watch should be able to keep time without the need of a web site to know what time it is. If the NTP server it is using is down, it should be able to fall back to an alternative, pull the time from the smartphone, or at the very least, keep it's own time independent of ftibit.com.

What if I am somewhere with no cell or wifi service for two weeks? Is this watch going to drop off to 15 hours out of synch? If so, they I need to revert to an actual watch that can keep track of time without the need to phone home.

Hello @OldBaldHeadedFa.

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing your feedback.

The Fitbit's time should be correct even if it doesn't sync with your account. It could be that the Fitbit restarted or ran out of battery and that's why the time went off.

On your settings, do you have the settings for the phone to use the same time as your phone or that you manually set the timezone? That could explain what is going on.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
