Couldn't sync your Google Pixel Watch 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm not sure there is a point in this post other than hopefully getting an update on when it is expected to be resolved as any time I try to start a support chat, I'm waiting hours without reaching anyone.

A couple days ago, the Fitbit app started to experience sync issues with "Couldn't sync your Google Pixel Watch 3. Tap to open help."

I've done all the troubleshooting steps. The watch is connected just fine as apparent in the attached screenshot.

Two days ago, it was at least syncing sleep data, heart rate data and hourly activity. Today, nothing is syncing.

I saw that version 4.26.1 is rolling out and may fix this issue, but I've been on that version since this issue started.

Anyway, if anyone has new information, I'd appreciate it. Or if anyone can pass this on to developers that the most recent version does not fix the issues as I can't get in touch with support.

@gjules, more data might help.

I replaced my Sense 2 with a Google Pixel Watch 3 six days ago. It has always synced to the app on my Pixel 6 Phone. However, the data in Fitbit doesn't match the watch. I see that I am on Fitbit version 4.26.1 which updated earlier today. My guess is that it may fix your sync issue with incorrect data like I am getting.

I expect that any type of support will be slow to get to with the recent rollout of the watch and other recent changes.

I hope this helps at least a little and have a Terrific day!

Like I said in my post, I've been on 4.26.1 for days. That is when my issues started. Also, I've had the Watch 3 for two weeks, upgraded from the 2.

Hello @gjules

I also upgraded from the Pixel Watch 2 to the Pixel Watch 3. Every now & then, my Pixel Watch 3 has trouble syncing with the Fitbit app. When this happens, I've turned off Bluetooth on my phone, then back on. Also turn off Wi-Fi on my phone, then back on. That usually gets my watch syncing again. Sometimes, it takes doing this more than once.

In your Pixel Watch app, you only have the Pixel Watch 3 linked to your phone, right? And your Pixel Watch 2 is turned off?

As for the Fitbit app update, this month I'm pretty sure that I got 3 updates this month. Two were earlier this month (Sep) as the app was being updated for the Pixel Watch 3 and another update just yesterday.

You might want to check to see if there's another Fitbit app update.

Hello @RiekoC

Yes, I've disconnected and reconnected Bluetooth, turned Wi-Fi off and on, uninstalled the app and reinstalled, all of those things in the help article. Yes, the other watch is factory reset and turned off. This issue literally started after I got the app update 2 days ago. I've been checking for updates all day and no joy. I'm just super frustrated because I'm a high-performance athlete and my trainer are super reliant on the data for my training schedule and meal planning.

Hello @gjules

Thank you for confirming the troubleshooting you've already done.

At this point, I'm going to check with my fellow Pixel Watch PE's to see if they have any suggestions and will report back.

@gjules

Is your PW2 still powered up and connected to your phone in the Pixel Watch app?

If so, try powering the PW2 off and try to sync the PW3.

@gdio53 As mentioned in another reply, it's factory reset and turned off.

Hello @gjules

Although the 4.26.1 Fitbit app update is supposed to include fix to the syncing issue, it's obviously not working correctly for you. The recommended step is to restart the watch when it won't sync with the Fitbit app.

I would also suggest submitting Feedback using the Pixel Watch app: Tips & feedback > Send feedback

Although you likely won't get a response, the team receives and reviews the feedback reports.

@RiekoC I've restarted it multiple times as well. I'll try the Feedback option since I've been trying to reach support for 2 days.

You're not alone, this has been an issue for me since early September.

Hello @gjules

Thanks for letting me know that you've already done multiple restarts on your Pixel Watch.

There's one other reporting option that you can try, which doesn't work properly for me. In the Pixel Watch app, there's an option to take a bug report on the watch. Tap on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right of the app and tap Take bug report on watch. This will start the bug report process. When you open the Notification display on the watch, you'll see the progress of the bug report. You'll get a notification on your phone when the bug report is ready to send. When you tap on Send, you should see a form to complete. Fill out the required information, then send it.

As I mentioned, this process doesn't work correctly for me. When I tap on Send, I don't get the form. Instead, I get the options on selecting the app/method to send/share the report. If this is what you see, you have the same issue with the bug report as I do and there's nothing further that you can do with the watch's bug report.

Hello @Estrogenix

Have you gotten the latest update for the Fitbit app? The 4.26.1 update is supposed to have the fix for the syncing problem between the Pixel Watch and Fitbit app.

@gjules

Didn't see in any of your posts, but have you tried restarting your phone?  I've been having some issues lately switching between my PW2 and PW3, and restarting the phone fixed the problem.

@RiekoC I don't have three vertical dots in my Watch app. The only thing up in that corner is the menu to add/switch Google accounts, along with my Google profile image. I know about submitting a bug report. I've done it before. And now, I can't find the option.

Yes I have 4.26.1.

It did not solve the issue.

@gdio53 yes, I have. This didn't start when I switched. Everything was fine until the update to 4.26.1 two days ago. It literally stopped working after I updated the app and I've done everything, trust me. And now when I try to contact support, they have a message that the wait is super long because of higher than larger volume in the past couple days.

Hi everyone, and a warm welcome to our new members.

@gjules@Goosse1962 and @Estrogenix Thanks for sharing screenshots of the error message and trying some steps prior to posting. I'd like to share with you that our team is aware of this issue with the Fitbit app not allowing you to sync, and they're currently working on a fix.

In the meantime and just in case you've done so, I'd recommend rebooting your phone and making sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.

@RiekoC and @gdio53 Thank you for always helping us out!

@RiekoC You may want to check out the discussion thread titled 'Update your Fitbit App by September 30, 2024.' We've been discussing issues with the app since the first week of September. If you depend on your data, you may need to find a work-around until they fix it or...
