Daily steps restarted halfway through the day

I had over 5,000 steps earlier this afternoon and out of nowhere after the new update was installed I lost all those steps and it started back at zero. Is there a way to get back those steps I lost?

Hello @LewAsh143. I am sorry to hear this. I would be surprised that the Android app updating on your mobile device would result in lost steps. When the app syncs with your tracker, the data is actually synced to the Fitbit servers, and the app displays that data (from the fitbit servers). Can you check again at the end of the day, or tomorrow to see if the data is still missing?

If you login to the Fitbit web dashboard at https://www.fitbit.com/activities, you should be able to view your steps for a specific day, week, month... This should match the app, and will tell you if Fitbit has that data, or not. Check it out and let us know what you see in the web and app dashboards.

I did, when I look at today all the data before noon is just gone. It shows like I started my day at 12pm today, everything before that isn't on my dashboard, app, or Fitbit device. I have no idea what happened or why. I can check again tomorrow to see if by chance it reappears.
