Many of Google's own Android apps have been getting the option to select 'dark mode' whereby the normally primarily white background apps can instead use a black background.
Visual preference aside, this is a battery saver since your phone's biggest battery drain almost always comes from lighting up the screen, and the more white/bright area of the screen the heavier the battery drain. It takes considerably less power to produce a primarily black area on your screen.
So fitbit mobile app devs: how about adding a dark mode option in a future update?
Thanks for considering.

Hello @MisterShark.
Thanks for sharing your suggestion in here and letting us know how you'd like to see the app improved.
At the time we already have a suggestion about a dark theme. Perhaps you could comment on it or vote for it to show your support. Be sure to read the FAQ if you have any questions on how the board works.

Done and done.
Thanks for the suggestion to consolidate. I had performed a search for the topic before creating this thread but perhaps was searching in the wrong part of the forums.
Feel free to close this one out if you wish.

Thanks for leaving it open but the other thread seems to be locked. I can vote and reply here but not on the other page. All I see are padlocks. Am I doing something wrong?

Nope, this is how Fitbit operates. You've got an idea, go vote for it, that'll placate you for a while and then they disable the poll so people can no longer reply. It's a horrible way to deal with user feedback, the entire feature suggestions forums is useless, I've NEVER seen them actually use a suggestion or listen to customer feedback.Through 3 redesigns of the website and the app, not a single comment was taken on board.
In this case it's especially frustrating, I just received the new design and when sharing a screenshot it turns out Fitbit has already done the work, there's a perfectly functional dark mode, but apparently only when sharing a screenshot, utterly ridiculous!!!

@LanuzaFitbit that other thread for this feature request you mentioned has been closed/locked since 2019 and dark mode is still not an option on the android app. It's now 2022 and this should be a feature by now
