Dashboard Tile Delays

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Constantly experiencing a lag in the flow of data on the Fitbit App Dashboard Tiles -- HR, Activity, Calories, Water, Steps, Sleep.  Nearly every time I launch the dashboard I have to click each tile and flip through various tabs to try to get the app to refresh the data.  Sometimes it takes several minutes; even a restart of the app entirely. Naturally this makes it very hard to get a quick read of my real-time stats; I'm always having to drill down and confirm everything is being reflected.

Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

I have a Samsung S8 so equipment shouldn't be an issue.  I do use LoseIt for food logging, but the lag exists with native fitbit stats as well.  Examlme: the steps tile doesn't update when I sync my Alta HR, until I click on it and drill thru the details of the tile (and often wait for it to refresh).

Welcome to the Forums @NewarkFit

Thanks for bringing this up.

It could be that the servers are a tad slow, or the connection is. My general suggestion in this case would be to restart the app like you mentioned, force close it and then open it again.

I'll be letting the rest of the team know about this situation nevertheless.

Let me know if you have nay further questions.

There was mention of this slowness in a thread started on 07.01.2018. This was marked as solved but further comments show that it was not.

Glad to see it may be being taken more seriously this time. I am fed up with having to open each tile at least twice to get the full up to date information. This has obviously persisted through more than one update.

You may find it's waiting for the return trip from the server... A moderator can correct me here, but I have found when you sync to the phone it's syncing to the internet first... How do I know this..?.

When it's slow I have my PC Dashboard open and keep refreshing that... It's always updated prior to the return trip to the phone..

I have also found since the new Fitbit Connect, if I switch my phone off I get an immediate sync, leave the phone on, and it struggles to find the Ionic if ever..... A final test before I post... Fitbit Connect cannot find the Ionic... turn the phone off and an immediate sync...

I am using a charge 2 and a sony Xperia m which worked just fine when I got the fibbit at Christmas 2016. This having to go in and out of the tiles has only come about after recent updates of the app. The old app version I have on my kindle is not as twitchy. I don't update that so I know I have a version that works. I don't understand how turning my phone off is going to help me. The thing seems to synch but when you open the tiles the data does not catch up until you close it and open it again. Why doesn't it catch up while the tile is open? This is just tedious and if these fora are anything to go by I am definitely not going for an upgrade of tracker. One disappointment is enough.
