Is there any way to delete old private messages from the app? The only answer I have found is they are suppose to go away after a month, but I have ones still in my messages tab from back in June (So a lot more than a month) Cannot find any way to delete them, only to 'report' them.

Hello @Jess93, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!
I appreciate the information and the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that this is an expected behavior, the private messages will not delete after a month but when you reach the limit of them, which in this case is 100 messages. When you reach the limit, the older notification will be deleted once you receive a new one.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

@Jess93 @RicardoFitbit I have 14 months of old messages. I logout often to try to reset them but they persist. The new format allows us to see what we have said, and that is great, even that they are grouped by the sender is great. 3 problems below though.
Problem: 1. The retention rule appears to me that it must be 100 individuals not messages. I have multiple messages titled with FitFriend names that contain multiple messages exchanged, and even multiple Account Deleted containing multiple messages from former FitFriends. Some left a year ago. At time of this post I have 401 days of messages and replies most of which do not merit repeating, and I could download them by request on fitbit.com if, and I prefer Only If, I request them.
Problem: 2. It is just text but hundreds of messages from a hundred friends is a lot of worthless data on my $ charged metered network every time I refresh.
Foundation of Problems: Fitbit claims it is my data and gives me zero control over what is collected displayed repetitively downloaded or stored.
Translation; it is not accurate to state that it is "my" data.

@Jess93 @RicardoFitbit It seems if you hold the message that it will op pen a window to allow a delete a statement from self or from header named friend.
I cant delete the friend header. It continues to show even though all the interchanges are gone.
I would like the option to delete the entire thread including the friend header in one fell swoop. There is no need for me to waste time deleting statement by statement. I could say if it had offensive statements it would be good to get rid of the specifics, but then you still have to see the person that said them.
Well jess93 maybe it will be of some use to you to try a delete.
Cheers! Happy 2020
