Different distances for same run?

Went for a three mile run today; I used the voice prompts so I knew to stop when it told me I'd hit three miles.

Synced my tracker and was surprised to see that it says I only ran 2.8 miles...even more surprised to note that it actually says I ran BOTH 3 miles and 2.8! Unfortunately the 2.8 version seems to be what's being used for my pace.

Any ideas?

How is it goin' @taser8 it is nice to read you! Well let me say this is weird. Have you tried to restart your Fitbit? And also, have you seen if your Fitbit app is update to the latest version? If not please try it.

Let me know if this helps improving the accuracy of your running. Have a wonderful day!

I will try both of those suggestions; it looks like there's a new version of the app that just came out but I have definitely been keeping up with the updates.

Something that I wonder about with this is that I doubled back on my route at the end; I wonder if the GPS might have gotten confused by that?

I'll try your suggestions and see if I can replicate this issue.

Thanks!
