Hello,
I've never had any issues with double counting of metrics before, but today I am seeing double counting of steps, calories, and cardio load. At first I thought it was just during my morning run when I got a notification around lunch saying that I'd met my calorie intake for the day, but now it's the end of the day I can see it's actually the entire day that's affected. For example, I see that during my sleep this morning I was burning ~135cal/hr instead of the usual ~69. When I view an activity like my run it shows sensible metrics, and I see no evidence of duplicate activities in the UI.
I'm using a Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 3 in the UK, using the Coaching Preview. Nothing about my setup has changed recently. I see others complaining on Reddit, also today, so this suggests it's a new issue as of today: https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/1rwyvii/double_counting_cardio_points_is_my_fitbit_giving/.
Please can you investigate as a matter of urgency, as this completely pollutes data and confuses the coach. I do hope you can retrospectively fix the data for affected users.
Thanks,
Chris

Can confirm as OP that this is now fixed for me as of end-of-day Friday (GMT). It did coincide with watch running out of battery and thus me booting it fresh before going to bed - unsure if this was a factor or not.
In the end 18/19/20 March were all doubled, and obviously that data has not been fixed, which is frustrating to say the least. I was at least lucky that the period aligned with day boundaries and to its credit I prompted coach and it was able to do the maths to give me corrected values, so that was handy.
To anyone from Fitbit reading this: the #1 issue I have with Fitbit is bugs and poor QA. New features and fancy Pixel Watches are great, but if you don't invest in quality assurance then you're going to keep disappointing your users when basic stuff doesn't work. What's the point in nice charts and LLM-powered coaching when it can't track data reliably? I stopped used Fitbit's food tracking, in part because it was always buggy. Please prioritise your QA for us. Thanks.

I'm also experiencing this, using the Pixel Watch 4 and a Samsung Z Fold. Around 10:00 - 11:00PM pacific time is when it started. Very annoying!

Seeing this as well; pixel watch 3, pixel 8 phone.
Looks like double steps, double calories, double miles, double floors, double cardio load points.
Heart rate data looks normal.
During my walk this morning the watch's step count in the exercise screens looked normal (right around my normal rate of 2000 steps/mile) but the daily step total on the fitbit app on the phone was obviously inflated.
Before that, sleep showed ~160 cal/hr instead of the usual ~80.

Same problem here, Pixel Watch 2 and Samsung Galaxy S25
Calorie burn is clearly double overnight. Steps are definitely getting counted double.
There's no way I burned 4500 calories today

I am having the same issue using a Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel 10 Pro. All the counting type stats like steps, calories, etc seem to be double what they normally would be. Today is the first day I noticed this issue.

Same problem here, started last night, my calories burned during sleep went from about 70/hr to almost 150. Seems to be roughly double everything?
I saw there was a post about 4.65 being released yesterday so I assume this is a brand new feature! I feel great, I've burned 6000 calories today and still have a few hours to set a new record. At this pace, I assume I will reach my target weight by the weekend, I'm very excited!
I see lots of messages about this, but no official responses. Seems pretty widespread and seems like a pretty significant goof-up...

Still happening today and wanted to provide some additional data since my original post...
I wondered if the issue might be a new bug introduced in the algorithm that works out whether to favour data from phone or watch, so I tried "disconnecting" my phone as a device (using the phone/watch icon at the top left). Alas, the issue still occurs even with just my watch (and my Aria scales) in the "Devices" section of "Connected to Fitbit". Health Connect is also there but I've gone into this and verified no other apps are writing bad data, and indeed Fitbit is clearly writing the double counting to Health Connect, so I remain convinced this is a Fitbit bug.
Also, I stared at the watch step counter as I walked today and verified that it incremented steps fine, so no issue there. The total step count displayed on the watch is itself doubled, but presumably that's happening when syncing with Fitbit.
Glad to see it's not just me with issues. I do hope we can get this escalated ASAP given the impact 😞

Yep same thing with me, counted my usual morning dog walk as over 8k steps when it's usually about 4k. Phone is Google Pixel 8 Pro and I've got the Pixel watch 2 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel 7 Pro.
Seems like I have this same issue yesterday and today.
Here it is at 8:30am my time and my breakfast making and commute to the home office in the basement has synced 503 calories to MyFitnessPal app. That's 503 more than normal at this time of day and MFP's algorithm fiddles with the data coming from Fitbit, posting a value always lower than what shows on my watch or in Fitbit. Which must mean Fitbit is sync'ing over much more than 500 calories.

I am also experiencing this starting yesterday. My Fitbit app using a Pixel Watch 4 showed that I burned 4440 calories on a no-exercise day (Wednesday) compared to 3028 calories earlier in the week on a 50-minute interval treadmill workout day. There was no material difference in the rest of my activities on either day. Worse, is that Fitbit syncs directly to myNetDairy which is setting my daily food intake calories using a 50% credit for exercise calories. This is a terrible bug.

Same here. Pixel watch 2, Pixel 10 pro. As of yesterday steps are doubled. Disconnected phone counting, in both health connect and Fitbit to no effect.
It's definitely the app, on a normal walk it's logging over 220 steps a minute, which is clearly wrong.
I have restarted my watch and while it was restarting I cleared app cache on my phone and it looks like that may have sorted it, but no way to be sure this won't reoccur or what caused it in the first place.

Supposedly, according to Fitbit Chat support (Google), this is a known issue and a fix is coming in the form of an updated app. Everyone with this problem should use the Chat with Google Fitbit support and see if you get the same answer about this being a known issue. This is the support link
