Duplicate Notifications with Fitbit app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently got a Versa, which I'm returning due to the numerous problems, and I noticed that I was getting duplicate notifications of texts and emails. I thought it was a Versa issue, but since I returned it and went back to my Charge 2, I have been getting duplicate text messages. Actually I get more than duplicate, I get the same text sent to my Charge 2 multiple times.

Dear Fitbit, is this issue being addressed?

Hello there @SunsetRunner, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community.  I was reading you are having duplicate notifications, initially with your former Versa watch and persisting now in your Charge 2. I would recommend a reset of this feature in case you haven't tried it yet.

Unpair the bond of your tracker from your mobile device Bluetooth settings. If you are unsure how to verify or change settings for your mobile device, refer to instructions provided by your device manufacturer. For most Android mobile devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth, find your tracker in the list of paired devices, and then tap Forget or Forget Device to unpair your tracker.

Following the previous steps, continue to reboot your app and mobile device: log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone.

Now go back to the Fitbit app, tap Allow notifications access and allow access to the Fitbit Notification Service, and then turn on call, text, or calendar notifications again.

Feel free to report any change of this issue. See you around and hope this helps.
