No notifications from messenger or phone calls on my fitbit

With no mention of the Fitbit model. 

Have you made sure notifications are turned on, on the tracker? 

Setup in the Fitbit app, 

Permissions given to the phones OS?

Yes, all notifications are on. I also uninstalled and installed again. Still no notifications. It's fitbit charge 2.

With no idea of what phone, have you revoked permissions and then set them up again. 

Ocaisionly I find notifications have been revoked by the OS.
