Error in calculated average steps per day in yearly view in app

In the yearly view of my Steps for 2023 the total number of steps quoted in the app is 4,182,361. Immediately above this it says 167,294 steps per day (avg). The true daily average is 4,182,361/365=11459 steps.Fitbit.jpg

Same! Very frustrating!

Having the same problem. Fitbit support can't seem to understand the issue. So frustrating.

Ian, your daily steps, 167,294, is exactly 1/25th of the annual total, 4,182,361 - so weird!!

My daily average steps in the year view are exactly 1/32nd of the annual total:

For year 2023: 3,679,130 total steps, 114,973 daily average - 1/32nd.

For year 2022: 3,795,626 total steps, showing 118,613 daily step average - again, exactly 1/32nd.

Seems like a simple math problem - please fix!!

I tried chatting with fitbit support and the chap gave me some vague explanation regarding syncing data ... can't seem to understand simple maths . Have been using the app and fitbit for 7 years now.  Till about a week ago it was all fine.Have emailed and escalated the issue. Hoping more people start reporting the glitch .

I also reported on a Chat, they said they would "escalate" the issue, so there's that...

Looks like they have sorted it. Yipee....

Nice. Not me. Now the denominator is 33 instead of 32 - it divides the year total by 33 for the average daily step count!!

I guess it's going the right direction until they divide by 365!

I didn't have to do  anything. Just was corrected this morning on its own. Thought it was a glitch the fitbit team sorted out.  Fingers crossed its corrected for you too. Good luck . Happy stepping
