Exercise days missing in month view

The month view of exercise days is really unreliable. (Android, latest version, synced with charge 4). Here's an example, September, should show almost every day as an exercise day. Instead it only has six. But if it go through day by day, the exercise is still showing so it hasn't been wiped. Sometimes some more days will fill in, but generally not, and it seems to always be the same days there and missing.

Hello @SusanHD

There's a known issue that affects our ability to see historical exercise data in the app. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on fixing the problem.

The positive news is that, as you noticed, your data is there and wasn't erased. That indicates to me that your data was uploaded to your account on the Fitbit servers. However, there seems to be a syncing issue between the Fitbit servers and the Fitbit app. So, we aren't seeing all our data in the app without having to dig for it.

At this point, there isn't any troubleshooting we can recommend since the issue is on the Fitbit side.

This is apparently a known issue that they're working on fixing, but it's been nearly 2 months since it started and there's been no update, so it's definitely not high up on their priority list. I'm still experiencing issues with my steps not properly syncing between my Pixel Watch and app and that's been going on just as long. Very frustrating.

Well it did seem to be that way, and I've even opened it and seen days showing as exercise days, then disappearing as I look, so it's actually removing them from the month even when they are correctly shown. Mostly it's annoying because I have to go for a medical and wanted to be able to show it.

I have been frustrated with the exercise days disappearing in the months...but this week it migrated to the front page and exercise days for the week are disappearing as well. So Frustrating!! Tuesday disappeared this week but I have 127 zone minutes for Tuesday and 22,000+ steps.

Same....and today the exercise missing days started happening on main front page as well for days of the week, but I have a streak going of 277 continuous days, but if you look at the months, it appears I exercised less than 35 days in 2024

And now removing the days from the week on the main page

I get this too, and honestly… it’s the most frustrating thing -  second only to the fact that my Sense loses pairing multiple times a day! I do expect more - and now just likely to move to a better brand that isn’t a hassle to use.

I've only just bought a replacement fitbit Charge 6 and the exercise days appear then disappear.  It's very annoying.  What's the point of a tracker if it doesn't track.  Wouldn't have purchased if I knew about this fault and it seems a reluctance for Fitbit/Google to sort.

So frustrating.

I've submitted this for escalation and gotten confirmation that the issue has been escalated to the appropriate team. However, I don't have a timeline for the fix. As soon as I get an update, I'll report back.

Thanks very much for your reply. Updates would be helpful. As you can
imagine having a tracker with info appearing/disappearing and generally
providing incorrect information is rather pointless and I currently feel
that (although a longtime fitbit user) that I've wasted my money by buying
my latest replacement in Sept.

Thank you
Tracey

This problem has been super annoying for quite some time. Was hoping it would be a quick fix, as unreliable data is useless. Please keep us updated as to when this issue is expected to be resolved.

This issue still isn't fixed two updates later!!! It's completely ridiculous!!! Why is this still a problem? Fitbit and Google don't care and support sucks!! I'm not sure I believe they're doing anything about it...

Is there a timeliness for a fix on this yet?  Obviously it's a pretty important function so would hope there would be some urgency for it.

Thanks

Seriously.  this happened in September.  It is now the end of the year....what on earth is Google doing about this???  It is now such a problem that honestly it is time to start thinking of an alternative.  Google bought the best fitness tracker system and ruined it.  So frustrating.  Truly.  The best tracker was Charge 4 and what did Google do...engineered a new version that was devoid of the altimeter, and therefore lesser than...and now the app is just a colossal mess. So what exactly is Google doing to fix this?  Seriously.  Doesn't it have the resources and the team to fix the app on Android phones?!?!?!?!  Now am getting so angry that something really good was made really awful by Google.  Not the first time something great developed by a small company is destroyed when taken over by a big company.  Color me unimpressed and still not a fan of Google.

Completely agree. I’m looking at Garmin products because of how annoying the Fitbit app has become to use, the display issue is one major problem out of several. Does anyone know if google has provided any expectations for a fix on the display issue??

Funny you should say that, I've been looking at Garmin too. I think Google have bought out Fitbit to run into the ground. I've already installed the Garmin app to have a look at and after several years of Fitbit it's going to take some getting used to. Also can't see where to log calories eaten which is a really important part of it for me and was hoping not to have to mess about with separate apps synching up but if needs must. Lots of people have already jumped having had a search on Bluesky for Fitbit and Garmin, and are reporting better accuracy and features not paywalled, so maybe the time is coming.
