Exercise impact on your day bug

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When viewing an exercise impact on your day, the stats are based on whatever day you are selected in the app, not  the day of the exercise.

Eg. Yesterday I ran and saw the following metrics:

5400 steps

483 cals.

If the app is currently on yesterday I'll see 5400/1500 and 483/3400 as the impact as expected.

If the app is currently on today, for the same exercise I'll see 5400/5400 (since I haven't taken that many steps yet) and 483/540.

Hello @Goosenator, it's nice to have new faces in the Fitbit Community. Note the impact of your exercise is based on your exercise recording in relation to the overall steps for the day you did that specific exercise.

It won't take the steps from other days in relation to the impact you had. To give you an example; take a look at these screenshots. The first screenshot is from April 6th and the impact of the exercise was 657 steps of 9,743 of my total count.

The next screenshot you can see is the same activity on April 7th (the next day) and my exercise contribute with 3,749 steps from the total of 6,167 which is the impact on my day. As you can see the overall count of steps is different and is not taken from the day I'm seeing.

If you can share with me some screenshots to have a closer look, it will be helpful to review if this is a bug. Although remember that the impact is individual to each exercise activity.

Hope this helps and if you have more questions, just keep me posted.

Hey,

I'm not referring to activity of the same type (your example) but a single run. Here are some screen shots to show what I mean.

When I say depending on the day selected, I'm referring to the day on the overview screen. The first screen shot is from 5/5 and the second screen shot is from 5/6.

5/5 Overview5/5 Overview5/6 Overview5/6 Overview

The two impact screen shots below are of the exact same exercise on 5/5 which you can see because the steps, calories, and minutes are all the same. The first screen shot makes sense because it says 3,812 (exercise steps of 5/5) / 14,466 (overall steps of 5/5). I entered this view which the overview page was selected on 5/5. The second screen shot, which was entered from the 5/6 overview pages, does not make sense because for the same 5/5 exercise it uses the current 5/6 overview as it's comparison for impact on the day. 3,812 (exercise steps of 5/5) / 3,812 (there's obviously an error here so it it's taking max(exerciseSteps, overviewSteps).

Hey,

Here are some screen shots of the issue. You can see that the workout is the same but the impact is based on whatever day was selected from the overview screen.

Hello @Goosenator, thank you for sharing with me screenshots of your exercise. Certainly this should not be happening, although I haven't seen other reports like this to call this issue a bug.

Perhaps was an error in the app at the moment to compile your data, however I'm wondering if the issue persists on a daily basis with other activities?

In the meantime I would suggest to do the following:

There is a new version 2.49 for the Fitbit app. To see what version of the Fitbit app is installed on your device:

  1. Tap the menu button.
  2. Tap Help.
  3. Tap Fitbit App.

After updating the app, please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings and access to the App manager option. Look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and finish this workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized again, go back to your app and try again.

Let me know how it goes. See you around!

I'm getting this same issue/bug now on my version 3.21 (20243500). I use an android phone and have the Fitbit blaze.

Sofar today I have burned under 800  as it's only 9am, and when looking back at all past exercise as X number of caloried burned and the impact on the day shows ut of today's calories 779 calories instead of the 2400odd calories for that actual day that the exercise took place.  Not sure how to add screen shots plus my issue is identical as above. Please can you help?  My app is up to date and so is the actual blaze.

Thanks

Hi Roberto, I am having the same issues as described above. I followed your steps i.e. deleted cache and data and restarted my phone and managed to resolve it. However when my watch synced to the app again, the bug came back. Do you have any further suggestions? TIA!

Could I get an explanation to the  Impact to your day section. I think of it as if you exercise a record is set, then you keep wearing the tracker and it records the information based on the rest of your day. But I have found that if I stop wearing the tracker right after my session the information is still off or it has a + to the number that (ex: 12,000 +9,000).

I'm having exactly the same issue too. Is this bug being worked on at all? I can give detailed examples if needed, but I have tried the steps suggested by Roberto above which haven't worked.
