My watch enables me to clearly log the fact that I am cycling. I find it frustrating though, that I am only given 3 options on my Android app: Run, walk or Hike. It means that it records every daily circuit ride if 20km as a run, which gives wrong stats and analysis. How can I change this please?

Correct, the phone app has only the 3 options. But, depending on which tracker you have, most allow many more options when using the Exercise App on the tracker to track the workout.

Hi. Thanks. But I have a Versa 3 which sadly doesn't have exercise short-cuts. I am getting steady flack from poor Strava runners because my fitbit ap gives me no chance to record my exercise as cycling. This is today's example where this lack in the ap is causing people stress...

I don't use Strava so not familiar with that, but:
The Versa 3 does have Exercise Shortcuts. The difference is that all the options are right on the Versa 3 rather than having to set them up on phone app, as with some other models. From the main clock face, scroll right to 'Exercise'; tap that and you see your 3 most recent choices, followed by the rest of the options. And after getting to your option choice, scroll down to see other settings for that exercise type.
To be clear, the Exercise App and Exercise Shortcuts are all on your wrist, not on the phone app.

Right. But the problem of only having 3 on the app, means that is the one other folk read. They don't read what I set on my watch

Have you tried recording it as a Run from the Exercise App on the Versa 3 itself? That will cause it to get logged as bike ride in the app. There is no need for you to actually log it; just record it from Versa 3 as it happens.
The walk, run, hike options on the phone are the same for all Fitbit models. That is a function of the phone app, not the specific fitbit.

Thanks Johnny. Well I'm using the Fitbit app on the phone. I asked this when I had 4 Fitbit watches and the same problem continued. I just got back from a great ride and found this written, and if I don't get to changing on what's recorded by Strava, because my Fitbit app insists on it being recorded as a run, it really pisses people off. Example today, I received this note:

As long as you insist on recording your ride from the phone app instead of using the Exercise App right on your Versa 3, I can't offer you any other help. We're apparently just not understanding each other.
I'll try one more time. On your Versa 3, from main clock face, scroll right (swipe left) to 'Exercise'. Tap that, then scroll down (swipe up) to 'Bike' and tap that. If you record it from here, it will be recorded as a bike ride. If you insist on recording it from phone app, bike is not a option.
If this doesn't make sense to you, I will bow out and maybe someone else can help you.
