Hi.
I have used the Versa 3 with a Fitbit for a year now on my old Samsung phone. I recently got a new(er) phone: the Vivo X20.
When I try to install Fitbit, I get the following message:
"The app won't work for your device"
I cannot download and install the app on my phone. It is an Android phone with all the latest updates installed.
I have googled around and I can't find any cases that Fitbit simply cannot be installed on an Android phone...
Is there a workaround? Or an alternative app? I am currently unable to sync my Versa 3 to my phone, which means that I cannot use it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

In the last few years, there have been some updates made regarding required Android (and IOS) phone versions. These requirement changes were not widely publicized, are difficult to find, and are sometimes listed with conflicting information. In some cases, if you had the Fitbit app already installed and running on an older phone, you could continue running but without some of the newer features, but if you deleted the app, then tried to reinstall, it would not let you because your Android version was too old.
I expect you are running into a problem with this. When I look up the VivoX20, U see it comes with Android 7.1 upgradable to 8.0. I suggest you see if you check your Android version and see if you can upgrade the version, then try Fitbit again.
Otherwise, your newer phone might still not be new enough. Sorry. You might want to try contacting Help to check on requirements.
If you still have the you Samsung phone with Fitbit app on it, you can probably go back to it just for Fitbit.

Hello @Mozart9000
I’m not versed on the operating system on every phone out there but I do know for an Android you need Android 8 or higher to use the Fitbit App. Is yours an Android 8 or higher?
Try restarting your phone and retry. Since you are using an Android device please make sure you are saving the app on the phone's memory not on any SD card. You can sometimes fix issues with apps not downloading on the Google Play store by following these steps (look below), then restart your phone the try downloading the Fitbit App again:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Apps & notifications. App info or See all apps.
- Tap Google Play Store.
- Tap Storage. Clear Cache.
- Tap Clear storage Clear all data. OK.
😃 I hope this helps and gets your Versa 3 up and running again with your new phone. Please let me know how it goes
