Fairphone 3 compatibility

I am thinking of purchasing a Fairphone 3 and want to be confident my Ionic Fitbit will be compatible. The Fairphone 3 uses Android 9 so that looks good from IOS perspective. But Fairphones of any type are not listed as being compatible on the Fitbit website (nor incompatible). Is anyone able to offer any advice especially from anyone who is using Fairphone 3? Thanks

I am thinking of purchasing a Fairphone 3. Its IOS is Android 9 so that looks okay. However I can't see if the handset itself is compatible with FitBit as its not one of the listed phones. I'm a real luddite and has already tried to post this question and it disappeared so working out compatibility is way beyond me. Any one got advice ? Thanks

Since your asking about if the Android app is compatible with the phone in question. You would be better off asking on the Android board

Sorry, thanks for your reply but I'm not asking if Android 9 is compatible. Fitbit website says Android 7.0 or higher is compatible. I mention Android 9 as thats the IOS for the Fairphone. My question is whether the Fairphone 3 handset is compatible with Fitbit. The Fitbit website lists phones that are compatible with Fitbit (there are lots but Fairphones aren't listed) and on the other hand it lists few phones which are not compatible (again, Fairphones are not listed as not compatible). The absence of any reference to Fairphones compatibility with Fitbit therefore leaves me in the dark on the question.

Your title is asking about the ionic and this phone.

The ionic is compatible with the Fitbit app.

The question is, will the Fitbit app work correctly with the phone.

I can not answer this.

Most Android issues are with modifications the manufacturer or cell provider has made, or specific hardware in the phone.

Hi @Jamonabike, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. Let me share with you that we are constantly working and testing different mobile devices to make sure that they work as intended with our products and services. As it turns out, at this moment I'm unable to let you know when or if the Fairphone 3 will be added to our list of compatible devices, however, my best advice for you will be to constantly check our list of compatible devices for any update.

This doesn't mean that your Ionic will not work at all with such mobile device but we are unable to confirm that all its features will work as the way they were designed.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be around.

Thank you for your reply and clarity of answer. Sadly, since I already have a Fitbit (and not a Garmin) I have had to go for a reconditioned Apple iPhone rather than fairphone. But at least for now I am still using the Fitbit.
