I'm finished with Fitbit. I've had 3 different models, over the past 3 years. They've gotten progressively more ambitious, but the fit-and-finish has diminished over time. Now, I have two problems which have caused me to rethink my choice of fitness tracker.
1. App notifications on Android do not update, or they do not stay updated. This is a known problem. It's been on the forums since the Blaze was released. Want to add Hangouts to the list of apps that send notifications to your wrist? You'll have to uninstall, reinstall, and reconfigure the application.
2. With the newest version, Fitbit has introduces a "persistent notification" on my phone's notification area and lockscreen. (I can disable it, if I give up call/text notifications. Which is kinda the point of notifications.) There is no way to get rid of it that doesn't remove functions of the applications. Fitbit is the only wearable device app that has this "feature."
So, I'm out. I have to replace my scale, and move all my data to some other service. Which sucks, but at least there is a lesson here. I will find a company that listens to their customers.

Hi there @JohnHinesJr, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community!
About your first point I know this is something mentioned by other users and our teams are looking in to this to know the source of the problem. According to the updates I have, this is an isolated issue affecting a group of users as you noticed in this thread: Extended notifications not saving properly
Regarding your second point. Indeed, I saw other users in the Android board not happy about this "persistent notification". However this was a change beyond our initiative and for more details I would like to share the following article: Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?
I understand your point of view and rest assure I will forward your comments to our teams. I find very valuable your feedback and this is something we use to improve the Fitbit experience.

@RobertoME this is getting old to hear (even as a new issue to the ecosystem). I used a competitor's Android app on Android 8.0 and now 8.1. It connected to their tracker and provided consistent notifications without requiring a persistent notification. It allowed constant sync without a huge impact to battery life on my phone (another issue that has occurred in my situation since the 2.65.1 app update - and yes, I've logged out of the app, restarted my phone, blah blah blah; turning off all-day sync is all that reduced excessive battery usage).
I think the development team needs to investigate further on alternate solutions to a problem that is causing much dismay in customer use of the application.
