I have just received an email advertising Fibricheck in which you can monitor for atrial fibrillation from your fitbit. If you have an ionic or a versa model and of course if you are willing to pay the price.
This shouldn't concern me as I have a charge 2. But as I experienced an interruption with the display of heart rate data recently and have noticed others mention the same or similar problems I would like to know if this is due to this additional service.
Since being excluded from further updates by virtue of using android 5, I have noticed that when an update hits the UK there always seems to be an additional problem with my version.
Why is this? Old app versions used to be stable at whatever state they were left. This, no longer, seems to be the case.
If this is another form of enforced obsolescence gaining a foothold I can tell you right now, it won't make me purchase one of your new toys.

Hello @Lilbiddy, I'm happy to see you posting in the Android board again, welcome back! My apologies for the delay in responding your post.
I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that the release of the Fibricheck partnership and your Charge 2 heart rate tracking are not related. If you would like to learn more about this, please check: Fitbit and FibriCheck Announce Partnership to Deliver CE-Marked Heart Health Detection App to Fitbit.... To better assist you with your heart rate tracking concern, can you please expand a little bit more? You're device isn't tracking HR at all or not accurately?
Keep in mind that as any technological device such as our Fitbit products, we always recommend our users to keep everything up to date, from the Fitbit firmware version to the Android version of your mobile device. In this case, since the latest Android version of your mobile device is Android 5, I recommend you to check our list of compatible mobile devices to make sure that you're using a compatible device with our products and services. Not using a compatible device can cause certain difficulties with the app and the connection process with your Charge 2.
Let me know if you have any additional questions, you know that I'll be around looking forward to your reply.

Hi @RicardoFitbit, thanks for your response. I am now receiving heart rate data as normal. What happened was despite synching properly I experienced a morning when the heart rate didn't enter any information. The data for the day didn't update until about 4pm. I noticed someone else having the same problem. There seems to be a pattern of transient problems and they nearly always happen when an update is taking place. Also as I am in the UK I assume that when fitbit do stuff to the system they are doing it at night as far as they are concerned which is partly my day.
This may also account for some sporadic weirdness.
