Fit Bit Flex 2 Burned my Wrist While I slept!

I've been wearing a Fit Bit for a couple of years, and always wear it.  I wear it to bed to track my sleep habits at night and I also wear it during the day to track my exercise.  I've never had any discomfort or problem with it burning me.  If it weren't for my cat repeatedly waking me up tonight, I would not have woken up and found the burn mark as early as I did.  I felt the discomfort on my wrist several times when he woke me up repeatedly, but kept dismissing the pain (having no idea that I should be alert to this as a sign of danger) and going back to sleep. I finally switched to the other wrist and again went back to sleep.  The cat continued to wake me up just enough for me to be aware of the discomfort on my wrist.  I was thinking that it was my wrist that was hurting on its own, not thinking that it could possibly be caused by the fitbit.  At one point, I sleepily switched it to my other wrist, thinking that I must be sleeping wrong and that somehow I was just feeling uncomfortable wearing it (which is odd, since normally I have no discomfort at all when wearing it at night).  When the cat finally woke me up completely, I got out of bed and saw the burn mark on my wrist!  It was very painful and running cold water and aloe vera wouldn't even soothe it.  It was very painful!.  The FitBit left a mark on the inside of my wrist.  It almost looks like a cut.  It is a red line, like any other burn that you could get from touching a hot stove or iron, but shaped just like the FitBit.  The burn came from the metal dots that touch the skin.  I will never wear it again.  It is so scary that this happened!  If the cat hadn't awakened me, it could have been much worse, because I usually am a pretty heavy sleeper.  Thankfully, the cat had some reason to bother me and was persistent.  (What a wonderful cat.)  It is unbelievable that this happened. I've never had any trouble with any of my FitBits that I've owned.  I have always worn them with no problems at all.  With the new update, maybe some kind of setting made it do this?  I can't imagine what has caused this problem!  So scary.  😞

Give that kitty a nice piece of fish. I think they may have detected whatever the malfunction with your fitbit was.

Many moons ago a cat of mine kept fussing round the fuse box in my home. When I checked there was a fault with the power company's main fuse that warranted an emergency fix as it could have ignited at any moment. Kitty saved me.
