There seems to have been a number of posts on this subject over the years with no explanation/resolution so I'll go over the issue in a slightly different way.
Sleep - it seems logical that the total amount of sleep, the amount of time in each stage (deep, rem, light and awake) are specific amounts - e.g. 6 hours 25 minutes total sleep, 30 minutes awake, 54 minutes in deep, etc.
That does not appear to be what happens. The problem occurs, for me, when the initial sleep calculation is wrong and I must edit my sleep start time. Taking one specific day as an example (this happens regularly).
My initial sleep log showed sleep start at 12:43a ending at 6:21am. This was incorrect as I had gone to bed at 9:46p (I noted the time when I turned off the light).
My initial sleep log showed;
After editing my sleep start time I had the following;
The Deep Sleep number does not make sense. How can an absolute amount of deep sleep go down when the total amount of sleep increases?
Any insight as to why this is happening would be most appreciated.
