FitBit App will not stay logged in

I've run into an issue since the latest update.

My version of android is 6.0.1 and my phone model is a Nexus 6p. The FitBit app is the latest version.

The trouble I'm having is this: The FitBit app will not stay logged in and will force log me out. Upon logging back in, I have to re-add my FitBit Charge HR to the app.

I've uninstalled the FitBit App, rebooted my phone, re-installed the app. Condition still exists.

I have even reset the FitBit and performed the above steps again.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @SunsetRunner! I do really find this very weird. I haven't seen any similar issue in the Community. Try logging out or stay logged out and go to your phone settings, search an option that says "Apps", tap on it, search the Fitbit app, tap on it, and tap on "Clear data". Once you've done that, reboot your device and try to log back in.

Let me know how it goes.

I tried all the suggestions made throughout the forums (Removing the FitBit pairing within my phone, re-adding the device to the fitbit app, uninstalled the FitBit App) and what you suggested clearing the data.

The problem still exists.

Thanks for your response @SunsetRunner! I appreciate you have tried all the steps you mentioned to fix this weird issue. Since they haven't worked, I suggest you to get in touch with Fitbit Support directly so they can take a look into your account and see what is going on. In the meantime, you can try to update the Fitbit app by following these steps:

- Open the Google Play store on your device.
- Tap the menu button.
- Tap My Apps and choose the Fitbit app.
- Tap Update. If you want automatic updates in the future, check the Allow automatic updating box.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi!

On my search about this problem I'm having I came across this forum thread and it's exactly what's happening to me!

Only 5 years later.

I've got a FitBit Sense and a Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with the newest MIUI 12.5.10.0, on Android 11 basis.

I've had it since June 27th and it started around two days (or nights rather) after that, that I've woken up in the morning and wanted to check my sleep only to notice that my FitBit app forced logged me out but somehow still stayed in the logged in screen, but with no profile pic and no data to read. I had to then click on that missing profile pic, say "log out" again, bc neither my profile nor my watch will be displayed options to click on, and then try to log back in. Then it'll tell me that FitBit.com is unavailable. Then I would need to uninstall the app, install it again and log back in, without problems. But I would need to link my watch again and re-assemble the permissions for notifications etc.

It's been a while like that and lately it has gotten worse. I usually experienced that every two mornings or so and now it happens up to trice a day, sometimes with only 30min apart, that I have to log out, uninstall and re install the app.

I've tried a lot already, like factory resetting my watch, since at first I thought it was its fault. Then I (as mentioned) always uninstall and re install the app. I logged out and uninstalled, then rebooted my phone and re installed it - didn't work either. I checked, I've got the newest version of the app as of today.

I don't know what to do. FitBit was the best fitness tracker firm I've had so far and I have been searching through a lot. Only FitBit was able to really accomplish everything I wanted in a smart fitness tracker, so I really don't want to switch to something else, just because of some app problems, but it's getting really annoying.

Somebody any ideas?

Thanks!
