FitBit Blaze Compatibility with Samsung Galaxy A5

Hello,

I am looking at getting my wife a FitBit Blaze for Christmas (https://www.fitbit.com/en-ca/shop/blaze?color=pink-22k-gold-plated&band=tpu).

She has a Samsung Galaxy A5. I do not find that device on the list of compatible devices. Will there be an issue between the Fitbit and her phone or should this function ok?

Thanks,

Hi there @Mounted, let me give you a warm welcome to our Fitbit Community. It's nice to hear you want to get a Fitbit Blaze tracker for your wife. Nice choice of color by the way!

Now about the compatibility of the phone this is a very important fact to consider. You are correct the Samsung Galaxy A5 is not compatible and with many phone that are not listed here, are able to work as is expected though. The difference here is we cannot guarantee the behavior of the tracker or the app in relation of the phone functionality since the features are not optimized to run on these phones.

So my advice is to make sure to sync with a compatible phone to avoid any misbehavior in the feature. If you are going to use a non-compatible phone make sure the OS version is one of the recent and  the device supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0.)

If by any chance does not work, an alternative would be setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a computer

Rest assure our team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for future updates!

For more questions, just let me know. See you later.
