I've been using the new dashboard since I started this ~Nov 2015. Recently, I've had a few times where exercise will disappear.
Example- Yesterday I walked 2.7 miles. Because I had to stop at .9, I recorded the parts separately. When I was done, the YOLO screen came up and I left the phone alone for a few minutes.
Today, I see on my dashboard the .9, but not the second 1.8 mile walk. This has happened a couple of times, and I can enter that separately if I remember. But I can't get it all the time.
I'm using the Android App on a ZTE Citrine. It's been pretty good up til about 2 weeks ago.
Is this something to do with a recent update? Is there a time/distance/speed threshold I'm not aware of?

Thanks for joining the Fitbit Community @Sphinx1121!
In this case, since the ZTE Citrine is not currently a supported device, issues like this can happen. Because the Fitbit app has not been fully tested to work with that mobile, there are situation in which the functionality will not be at 100% percent.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Ya, I thought so, but I was hoping it was something minorly fixable.
Well, no money to replace a perfectly good working phone, so I'll deal with manually entering exercise when this happens!
Thank you.

Hello @Sphinx1121!
Thanks for your understanding on the matter. As long as you are able to manually enter the activities you should still get the information to track your progress on your Dashboard. Meaning you can still reach all of your goals reliably.
If you have any further questions, let me know.

Hello @GinaCW! Thanks for joining the Community.
In this case I'd like to know what is the specific Samsung Galaxy model that you have, that way I'll be able to look into what could be happening.
Look forward tp helping you make sense of this situation.

If I can reframe this topic title... Is the problem, " The Exercise tracking doesn't save the exercise and mapping at Finish"...
If so, in many other posts in other topics there are two issues.
The first is, users reporting that when they use the Track Exercise (MobileRun) on their phones they lose the mapping because they have paused and resumed within a session then pause and Finish. In some reported cases they see the "Fitbit App has stopped" message.
The second the majority of the users who only pause and hold finish at the end have success. It never shows pace on the phone but it is available when you sync.
In saying this some users are reporting failure with both methods.
For testing you only need do a minimum of 1 minute using both methods.. You will probly get a message like "Are you teasing me or similar" when you finish.
I have had 100% success when I never pause and resume, when I pause and resume I get 100% failure.. Version 2.48..

Thanks Colin, but it's not that simple. This happens if I pause/don't pause, upload right after/don't upload right after, walk long/fast enough or don't... Bottom line, it's random.
I had a feeling it was the phone. Can't be compatible with all the types of electronics out there, I guess.

@Sphinx1121 I agree with you. My earlier Sony Android which is on the Compatibility List, and was on Android V5.1 gave me all sorts of problems.. Random etc.. When I upgraded to this Sony nearly 12 months ago all of the previous issues disappeared.
All I have now is the Pause, resume problem and this phone isn't on the Compatible List.. Every other problem you see reported I don't have.. Oh !!! except a random sleep issue.. 33 days of new sleep records and suddenly one day of the thoe old... and now OK again...
So we will see what Fitbit are doing now with the rumored new Blaze because we will still have MobileRun.
I have no problems with third party apps using the GPS.. Even the other night I walked with Exercise Tracking and two other 3rd party Apps.. All plotted perfectly.. But in saying that I'm in a wonderful grid of 4gx towers provided by Australia's largest Telco so I'm covered on all fronts and at home I'm in line of sight 200m to a tower...

Add the exercise manually that was deleted accidentally is completely inaccurate! What is the logic for the manual exercise entry adding steps on top off already tracked steps? That makes no sense to me and is very disappointing.
Let's say I hiked from 12:30-1:30 and got 6567 steps. I had tracked the hike, but accidentally deleted it because the mobile app is quick to delete exercises when you accidentally long-press the exercise in the list.
So I want to still log that I hiked from 12:30-1:30. The way it is not, I have to enter the distance and the time, then the app ADDS STEPS on top of already-tracked steps, making it completely inaccurate!
Can someone explain to me why it wouldn't ask if I would like to use existing steps within the time frame I specify? I care less about distance than I do about steps, because distance can be calculated based on my steps * stride-length.

Hello @versute!
If an activity is deleted, the steps from that activity should be gone too. That's why I suggested adding the activity manually in order to properly reflect the information.
In this case, I'd like to take a closer look at the situation. Could you take a screen shot of the total steps before and after logging the activity and also one showing the logged activity? That way I'd be able to see what is going on.
Look forward to your reply.

I can't understand how the manual tracking of activity won't allow for the situation where I was wearing my FitBit, but forgot to track the activity through the app, and I want to go back and say that from X - Y time frame I was exercising. If I started a hike at noon and ended my hike at 1pm, but forgot to start the app tracking my activity, but was wearing my FitBit, that the manual tracking won't ask me if I was wearing my fitbit at the time and that those steps between noon-1pm should be included in the steps for the activity.
I think it's really stupid that it would just add steps based on some arbitrary distance I put in, even though it tracked steps during that time. I NEVER forget my FitBit, so I don't need to have it add steps, because those steps are already tracked. Have I made sense here?

Hello @versute.
I don't think you have not made sense at any point. Having said that, at this moment it is not possible to have the Dashboard ask you which steps you'd like to log in, the tracker or the manually logged activity ones. For the time being, the best way to go about this would be to leave it as is and make sure that the next time you go hiking you select the activity on your Fitbit.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

@versute. You can document your activity with the scenario you have posted. It won't go into your Exercise tile but it will log the data in the Activity Log. It cannot be done through the phone..
You click on the Activity Record Icon (the large Stopwatch) at the bottom of the PC Activity Log. This is a pure copy of your data and can be edited after you have created the record.
You can include the text Hike etc and your start and finish times to show your effort..After you log that you can click on the very small stopwatch near the description and than you can examine the one minute graphs for your effort.
If you want your HR data graph you can then create that as a manual record using the data from the Activity Record.... BUT.... that will average your calories over the time period and you could lose Active minutes, or it will improve the Active minutes depending on how high your peak calorie effort was.

Thank you for the reply. I only use the mobile app, like 99.9% of the time to view my steps/activity, so I will look into the desktop/web version and see if I can account for those times where I forget to track via the app, or the app deletes/loses my tracked activities, since I can't currently rely on the app to keep exercises it has tracked for me.
