Fitbit Alta

My Fitbit Alta HR has stopped counting steps and syncing with my Samsung Note.  It also does not hold a charge for more than a day.  It will be 3 years "old" in November.

I have already gone through the steps below:

Cleaned the charger and charging area on fitbit.

  1. On the phone: Settings > Bluetooth, unpaired all the connections that exist with the device. 
  2. Turned off the Bluetooth and restart the phone. (Switch off and on again).
  3. When the mobile device is back on, turn the Bluetooth, went to the app and try setting up the Fitbit as a new device.

Mistake one was removing the tracker from the Fitbit account. We still have to fix the sync issue
