I have recently purchased a FitBit Ionic, and installed the FitBit app on to my Android based Google Pixel. The phone and watch are as up to date as they can be.
Since installing the app I have had issues with calls on the phone, both normal and speakerphone modes. After answering an incoming call, or making a call, the audio is completely dead. I cannot hear anything and the other caller cannot hear me. Occasionally I cannot hang up the call either and have to force a phone shutdown and reboot.
After a bit of testing, including carrying out a factory reset of the phone and installing the Android updates, then the FitBit app I have been able to confirm that the above faults occur after syncing the watch and phone. If I have All Day sync turned on in the Fitbit App, the phone breaks pretty much instantly after the phone and apps startup. If I do a manual sync, with All Day sync turned off the phone breaks after the sync, but is ok before the sync.
If I leave bluetooth turned off the phone is ok. I have nothing else paired to the phone on bluetooth.
Not being able to have the watch connected to the phone all the time, means the 'smart' watch is pretty useless.
Any bright ideas anyone, before I return the watch back for a full refund?

More information...
The fitbit app appears to break pretty much all functionality relating to audio. With the app running things like Google Assistant do not respond to voice.
Any ideas welcome
