Same problem for me as well. The app started crashing sometime yesterday, 7/4/18, but still worked occasionally. Today it crashes within a couple seconds after opening the app and I get the app stopped working message at other times too. I have a Moto G5 plus with Android 7.0 and Fitbit version 2.73.

I'm having the same problem. Cleared cache and restarted my phone, still crashes. Worked fine until a few days ago. So frustrated.

Me too! Ugh! For several days my Fitbit App on Android is not working! Is there anything we can do about this?

You know it's strange..... I'm using 2.73 which has worked just fine for the last month and without any updates just started acting up. I really like fitbit trackers, especially my versa but their app is just trash. You would think fitbit has been around long enough to have things figured out.

There's a thread about this in the Android app forum, you're not the only one.

So I decided to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if that would do anything. Now the app works but I can not set up my device. For some reason it can not find my ionic. I have tried restarting my phone, restarting the blue tooth and restarting my ionic, all many, many times. And sometimes all at once and still nothing the app can not find my ionic. The weird thing is that my phones bluetooth cant see the ionic either. I thought at first maybe it was a problem with my phone but that is not it, it can find other blue tooth devices just not my ionic.
Can someone from Fitbit please help? Right now I have tried everything possible and still nothing works.
Thanks.

Hey everyone -- If your app is still crashing, please uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app. Please let me know if that resolves the issue for you.

Under the topic Mobile App Crashing, the last entry was from a moderator, who said to Uninstall & Reinstall.
I must have called support around the same time as that post, cause the fellow I talked to said they hadn't heard anything about it. So, below is my story. However, the short version is:
THE UNINSTALL & REINSTALL WORKED. Crashing seems to have stopped.

Uninstall and install works for like 5hours. And gonna repeat the process for each future use. I have being having this issue for like weeks. Had no choice but to sync with my ipad instead of my android(8.1.0) phone.

Updated to the latest version of the Android app a couple of nights ago and it's been hell ever since.
The app will open but if I try to go to a deeper menu (enter weight, view sleep graph details etc) then the screen will freeze then a dialog appears either with
Fitbit isn't responding
or
Fitbit has stopped
It's 100% consistent and pretty much unusable now. To top it off, it looks like the app has become a big battery drainer - I rarely used to see more than a few % assigned to Fitbit, but I've seen it as high as 25% now (currently it's at 10%).
it would be great if I could roll-back somehow

Same problems here as of 04 July... My patience with this fitbit crap is almost at its limit.

The issue survived many phone restarts and a cache and data reset.
However uninstalling, rebooting and re-installing the app seems to have made things better again.

@ErickFitbit. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the crashing issue for me but now the app can not find my Ionic to pair with my phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice now and it still does not work. I have restarted my Bluetooth and my phone and the ionic many times and still it does not find my device. I checked my Bluetooth and other devices are working so I don't think it is an issue with my phones Bluetooth. Right now my Ionic is useless as I have no way to Sync it.

I see that this thread got marked as solved but I am still having issues. As mentioned before I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice. In addition I see that even after uninstalling and reinstalling I am still using version 2.73. If I reinstalled from the playstore shouldn't it have downloaded the latest version 2.74? For some reason that is not happening. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as this is definitely not solved for me.

Same problem last 2 days.. Android verison 7.11 Sony Xperia and up to date.
Force stop, clear cache, uninstall, reinstall, clear cache, force stop, reboot phone, unpair bluetooth, reconnect rinse and repeat in any order with multiple different combinations.
Set up all again from scratch... Just opening app and it crashes.
Data stored on phone not external SD card
