Fitbit App opens when text messages received

My FitBit ap on my LGv30 Android phone opens every time someone sends me a text message. I can be in the middle of typing up an email for work and the ap opens if someone sends me a text in the background. I can be on Facebook scrolling through, a text message comes in the FitBit ap opens. I have tried turning off notifications and the ap still opens. I will be driving and have my Waze GPS running and someone sends a text and the stupid FitBit ap opens on top of my GPS not a good thing when trying to use the GPS to find where you are going and have to try and close the FitBit ap while driving.

Thanks for bringing this up, it sounds frustrating. I'd like to take a closer look at what is going on.

The first thing I'd like to do is to ask you some questions:

• What Fitbit are you using?
• When did this start happening or has it always been like that?

In the meantime I'd recommend that you go into your phone's application settings and look for your Fitbit in there. Once you have gone there, look for the permission for the app and try to turn off the permissions to access text messages and see if makes it stop.

I have the Charge 2 and I turned SMS off a long time ago. I've turned off everything and everything pertaining to sms and Fitbit months ago it still does it. It did it in the middle of typing this reply. 😖😖

In this case, I'd recommend that you try turning notifications off in general and see if that helps so that this stops happening.

Obviously I am not making myself clear enough ALL NOTIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF FOR MONTHS and still every time a text comes in the FitBit application opens up on my phone, on top of anything else that is open and running and being worked on or in. There are no notifications ON in my ap or on the FitBit itself.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thank you for that clarification.

In that case I'd recommend that you try to uninstall the Fitbit app from your phone and then install it once again. That should help so that everything is installed correctly and it stops opening the app when you get a message.

I completely deleted the ap & uninstalled it. Shut off my phone and restarted. Waited 24 hours before reinstalling it and its still doing the same thing. only now not only does it pop up when someone texts it just randomly pops up whenever it wants. My son has the SAME exact phone as I do - LGv30 and does not have this issue.

Let's try to force close the Fitbit app whenever it is not being use and see if that helps so that it stops opening on its own.

Nope this doesn't work still keeps randomly opening. And now it doesn't sync right. I just did a sync I have 12,802 steps however a workweek hustle challenge that I am in only shows me at  8,933 and I created the challenge. I am honestly sick of all these issues.

Hello this issue isn't solved and I really need help. between the stupid app constantly opening on its own to it not recognizing exercises are working out at the gym do it not counting my steps correctly when I'm in challenges I sent screenshots I really would appreciate a reply I would appreciate if somebody would help me get this problem fixed otherwise I'm just going to go and get an Apple watch because I'm over this months of this problem these continuing problems and nothing
