Fitbit Blaze not connecting to phone GPS

My phone (HTC One) has connected via Bluetooth according to the phone and watch.

but when I want to go for a run and use the phones GPS I get a message on the watch saying "phone not found" or other times "check Fitbit app". Either way I'm really annoyed that I have to use another app on my phone track runs. Thinking of getting a different watch if anyone has any recommendations?

Since I love the Charge 2, @SimonT37, I don't have any recommendations on a different brand fitness tracker.  But, regarding the GPS connecting, make sure you have Enable Notification Widget turned on in your app, and sync your tracker after making any changes in the app.
