Pretty much exactly the same problem here (but with an android phone.) I tried everything, resetting the pebble, installing, un-installing and reinstalling the app. Going to the cellar to ensure there was no other bluetooth device around. Trying on another phone, un-installing, re-installing..
I double tap, it vibrates in response but switches off, and like the OP wrote, the only thing left is the slow blinking blue light.
