I've been having issues trying to reset my weight goal start date back to January 1st. I edited my goal on the 6th and it's been using that as a new start date. I go into the app and edit the date back to the 1st, but when I open it up again it's still saying the 6th. I've tried going to the website dashboard and into the weight section but I'm unable to find a spot to edit the start date. I also have tried to access my nutrition plan via the website but whenever I click "edit plan" nothing happens: I try to right click and open in new tab as a workaround but there doesn't even seem to be link to open.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and maybe know a way to fix it?

Thank you for the quick response! Unfortunately I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app (including logging out and logging back in) to no avail. My phone is the LG G7 Thinq, Android operating system. It's up to date and still experiencing this error. I first noticed it about a week ago. On top of Fitbit not saving my updated start weight date, I just started experiencing a new error today: when I go to my heart rate/cardio fitness section, it shows my score numbers cut off on the screen, and when I click to enlarge, where the numbers of my cardio fitness score normally are, they're not there.

For some reason now when I check my start date it's set to the 19th. Going in to try and Edit Food Plan via the website dashboard still isn't working, either. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've lost 7 pounds since the start of the year and it's a little disheartening to see the lbs lost section go down because of the later and later start dates.
Edit: I've figured out that I need to disable my adblocker to get the popup for Edit Food Plan to come up, but the start date of my weight goal still won't update. I change it, I click save, and it bounces back to the 19th.

I am having the same issue. There is no date to end my goal back to 2/1 when I started.

I just found a solution for mine! Granted, I have the iphone app, but maybe it'll work for you too.
So, when I updated my goal, for some reason my start date was changed to that day instead of back when I actually started! I tried to change it in the settings, but for some reason the date would always revert back.
UNTIL I looked at the individual weight entries on the weight page. I noticed the entry on the day I changed my goal had been changed to my STARTING weight, not the weight I'd wanted to log that day. Seems like the fitbit app never expects people to change their goals along the way? Seems like a gross oversight.
Anyway, I changed that entry to what the weight for that day actually should have been, and then my starting date updated to the proper date!!
It seems like the design is to tell you how much you've lost since your highest weight, instead of a starting date you set yourself -- which is very disheartening if your journey takes you up and down, but whatever.
TL;DR -- making sure the weight entry was accurate for the day I changed my goal fixed the problem.
