Fitbit add food: serving size

Hey Fitbit Community,

I'm new to Fitbit Premium and having some problems with logging my food intake. I'm sure this question is already answered somewhere, but I couldn't find a good answer.

When adding foods to the calorie counter, I can only select the food amount in “servings”. But it says nowhere what or how much that serving is. When I have packaging of the eaten product, I can usually find information on the back how much one serving of that product is. For other food however, it can make a big difference where you eat the product. When I had a big portion size, do I just write a strange number like “1.3 servings”?

Even considering big chains like Domino's Pizza, it says a serving of one of their pizzas is 173 cal. I would assume a standard 28 cm pizza is 1 serving. That cant be right. So how much is it? 30 grams? 50? 100? 1 kg? And what if you order a different size? In case of a Döner Kebab, the serving size seems to be for the whole thing, even if the number seems slightly small.

As you can see, I'm just kind of confused with this system. Calorie counting should be easy and not waste too much time. Am I missing some options in the app? Can you give me some tips for using this system?

Hi, @RelatingScarf, welcome, are you using the app on your phone or the dashboard on a PC? If the app then touch the "+" in the top right of the food screen>select your chosen item>touch "Serving size and edit the quantity. If using the dashboard select the food & enter the amount you want then left-click the quantity to get a choice of quantity ie cup, 1g and so forth.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
