Fitbit app causing Galaxy J7 Perx to run slow

Hello I have a Galaxy J7 Perx, Android version 7.0.  I have a Fitbit Flex 2.  Since installing the fitbit app on my phone, my phone has been running excruciatingly slowly.  It's making my phone almost useless.  Is there a fix for this???  So far I like what the fitbit does, but if there's no fix for this issue I'll have to return the device and get my money back.  Thanks.

Welcome to the Forums @mojorisen1.

 

This might be happening because the J7 Perx is not currently on the supported devices list. Do know that our team is aware of the multiple requests to add more devices to the list.

 

Since the app is not fully optimized to work with the phone, there is a possibility that it is causing the slowdown on your device. Additionally, it could be that there are a lot of apps open. Have you tried force closing apps that aren't being used, or uninstalling them?
