Fitbit app crashes constantly, at least once per day, often with every use

The Android app here crashes while syncing. Sometimes it doesn't seem to sync any data, sometimes some data, but e.g. never the exercise menu items.

Somehow I don't get v 2.33. I.e. I'm on 2.15.1 and there's no update for me in the play store.

Deleting data doesn't make a difference.

Reporting the crash doesn't work, because there's no submit button.

After a reinstall at first it kept "Syncing..." and doesn't seem to stop.

Then once it said it had finished, but the change to the exercise menu items didn't make it onto the tracker.

What do I do?

Hello @SunsetRunner, good to see you here in our Fitbit Community. In this case you mentioned there is no update for the Fitbit app on the Google Play store. It will depend of the Android device you are using and the OS is running. In some occasions there are certain OS versions that does not allow further updates since are not longer supported.

If the version of the Fitbit app you have is  2.15.1 it will explain why the app is constantly crashing, since the last update is 2.39.1.So make sure your phone's firmware is updated to the most recent version supported by the brand of your phone.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

Thanks, it looks like I either have to use a dongle, or a different phone or other device.

HI there @SunsetRunner, indeed if your phone app is crashing constantly it will be require to review the OS of your phone. Also as you mentioned you can sync using the dongle with a computer or if you have a tablet or other supported mobile device that allow to update the app to the most recent version you can sync your information using the same account without the need of pairing your tracker again.

If you are able to sync with a computer, either you have a Mac or PC you need to download Fitbit Connect. Once is installed, click the icon with a Fitbit logo located near the date and time on your computer and click Open Main Menu, and then click Sync Now. You may be asked to sign in, after which your tracker should sync with your account. If you have Windows 10 you can download the Windows Fitbit app from the Windows store.

Stay Awesome and hope to see you around again.
