Fix your App - it constantly freezes when deleting notifications

If it takes ten minutes to delete 10 notifications, users are less likely to comment/cheer others posts.

Hi @charleskn. It's good to see you around the forums.

I've moved your post to the Android board as this seems to be an issue and not a feature suggestion. I understand where you're coming from about having this experience with the Fitbit app and just to confirm, do you recall since when this started to happen? What is the model and OS version of your phone?

Because your post didn't mention, please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Check if the Fitbit app is updated.
  3. On your phone's settings, tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  4. Go back one screen, tap Force Stop and reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  6. Try deleting your notifications one more time and let me know how it goes.

The app is up-to-date, and I cleared the cache and restarted my Android device.

The app still freezes repeatedly when deleting notifications, requiring me to force the app to stop, and then restart.

Hi there, @charleskn.

Thanks for taking the time to try the steps suggested above. I'm sorry this continues happening and because this shouldn't be happening, please provide me with the model and OS/version of your phone. Also, let me know if this started happening after updating the Fitbit app. These details will help me to further investigate on my end.

See you around.

Hi @charleskn. I hope you're doing well.

Thanks for getting back with the requested information. I've confirmed that your phone is a compatible device and because this keeps happening, please give one last try to the following steps:

  1. On the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Notifications and turn off the Push Notifications.
  2. On your phone's settings, tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  3. Go back one screen, tap Force Stop and uninstall the Fitbit app.
  4. Reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, log back into your account and try deleting the notifications.

Hope this helps.

So this worked, but I had an odd experience. I sometimes use two devices to access the fitbit app. On my second device, it showed a large number of notifications, but my primary device they were all deleted and up-to-date. When I reloaded the app, all those notifications showed up in my primary device. I suspect there is some sort of issue syncing between multiple devices.

Hi @charleskn. It's good to see you around.

Thanks for your efforts while working on this matter, I'm glad the troubleshooting steps posted above worked for you. It's odd the notifications differ from both devices. In case you haven't done so, I'd recommend trying the same steps on your other device to see if the Fitbit app can update your details correctly on both devices. Please make sure to always sync your Fitbit device with one phone at a time to prevent any interference.
