Fitbit app is draining phone's battery

Can anybody tell me why my Fitbit app knocks my battery for six?  Even after I 'force stop' it restarts itself and drains my battery.

The App does not normally drain the phone battery.

Is it having difficulty syncing with the watch?

Or do you have more than one watch connected?

Sometimes Force stop is not enough, try

In Android phone Settings *

Apps

Fitbit

Storage - clear cache [not data]

Force Fitbit shutdown

[though it doesn't seem to fully]

Log back in to the Fitbit app

*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones]

Or for IOS uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, and redo notification setup.

Also try logout and a restart of the phone and watch.

Many thanks. Tried this as advised and almost straight after I got a
warning that Fitbit is using battery.. I have also tried uninstalling the
ap and then reinstalling. OS is Android. Anything else I can try?

Android warns of POTENTIAL battery user apps.

The thing to check at the end of the day is what percentage it actually used.

You only need worry about it if its then high, >5% which will be unlikely.

In short you can probably ignore the warning.

OK. Thanks for your time. I shall have a look at that later. The last
time I checked it was 54%

Are you saying its the phone battery that has a problem or the watch battery?

If the former, its the battery usage of the Fitbit App you need check on the phone, not the battery level of the phone. You need to go to the phone settings and have a look at what the OS is saying is used by the Fitbit App specifically.

It will be able to show you how it compares with other apps too.

The issue is with the phone (actually it is my wife's phone). Normally, a
charge lasts 2.5 days, or so, ago but just recently the battery has gone
flat in about 6 hours, and looking at 'Settings-Battery', it shows vast
majority of use is Fitbit.

That is strange - Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

The same thing has been happening to me. The fitbit app just starts itself even when I don't open it and don't have Bluetooth turned on.

I had just charged my phone before going to sleep, the following screenshots were taken after I woke up.

Any resolution on this?

I uninstalled the app and restarted my Fitbit then reinstalled the app. I
have had no trouble since.

Having same problem. I suspect massive data mining since Google got involved. I quit Fitbit.
