Fitbit app keeps crashing on Android

My Fitbit app keeps crashing no matter what I do.  It will not stay open long enough to do anything.  To make matters worse, it causes other apps on my phone to crash.  If I uninstall the app, the other apps work fine.  When I reinstall the app, the problem returns.  

 

I have tried rebooting, turning on or off All-Day Sync, logging out of the app.  I even did a hard reset of my phone, all to no avail.

This sounds like a compatability issue. What phone are you using?
